From the 1969 Stonewall Jackson High School Yearbook, The Jacksonian:
As representatives of beauty and grace, the majorettes of Stonewall Jackson ranked well above the average expectation. A spark of added excitement and enthusiasm was felt whenever they performed at football games, parades, or assemblies. Throughout the long, hot and tiring summer practice sessions, the majorettes each held one unified goal – top honors at the Kanawha County Majorette Festival. Theirs was a dream come true for they now possess trophies in first place corps routine, second place marching and our own Vonda Sigmon received first Runner-up to Miss Kanawha Majorette.
